The purpose of this site is to be a landing page for showcasing archeological sites and collections throughout the western New York area and bring all information into a central location for public access.

Our goal is to grow a digital collection of artifacts from these varied dig sites that can be shared for the general public to access, as well as fellow historians and archeologists.

Local history should be made accessible and available using modern technology. With a digital collection, it doesn’t matter if an artifact is locked up in storage, on display, or owned by a private collector. When the artifact is photographed and uploaded to our database, it is there for all to see.

As we continue to grow our project, we strive to network with other private collections, museums, and historical societies to further our goals.
